Chapter 1 - AB

Hello everyone, I'm Preston Valentine, and that dog behind me is Angelique Valentine. Some of you may know us from the Valentine Legacy, but for those of you who don't, let me introduce ourselves.

I'm the youngest son of Temperance and Joe Valentine, and I have two siblings: Meredith and Derek, who are twins. We're all very close and went to college together, but now we've each taken a different path. I have four nieces and three nephews, and I love babysitting them, but I think it's time for me to start my own family. Angelique is the second generation "spouse" in the pet part of the legacy, and her daughter Lizzie is now the heiress.

I bought a cozy little house near the Valentine Manor, and here's where I'm starting this challenge!



The first thing I did when I moved in was to start looking for a job. I want to be Captain Hero someday, but for now I'll have to settle for a job in the business track.



That's my neighbor, Mr. Kiks. He's married to The Ruler of All That is Evil. He walks by with their dog Claudia (who was also born at the Valentine Manor) pretty often, but I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet. Rumor has it Kiks made him sleep in the doghouse until he agreed to let her change his haircut, but we still don't know if she got her way or he's still sharing Claudia's bed.



The first days flew by, and soon it was time for me to meet my first child!



It's a boy! I named him Adam, and was very surprised when I didn't hear any voices in my head telling me what name to choose. Mother told us when she gave birth to us she heard a voice in her head telling her to name us after fictional doctors from a TV show. Father thought it was Lestat, our telepathic dog o'doom, but Mother said the voice sounded like The Ruler of All That is Evil. There are mysteries a sim may never understand.



Derek came over to meet his nephew, but he got distracted by shiny things. He's never been too bright, really. One would think he'd have matured after four kids, but he's still the same old Derek.



I hired a nanny to take care of Adam while I'm at work. She doesn't have much work at the moment, since he's a remarkably good baby, but I will definitely need help when the family starts growing!



Adam is a toddler! I've heard it's one of the hardest parts of raising a child, but I'm looking forward to it.

"That makes one of us."

Did anyone else hear that? It sounded like.. no, it couldn't be her, right? Right!?



Adam is a very smart kid, and I'm trying to teach him as many things as I can.



Something strange happened tonight. Apparently The Ruler of All That is Evil managed to change her husband's haircut, but he took his revenge on my son. I think the new haircut suits Adam, but Kiks has been rambling about something called "friggin' emo bangs" for hours. According to Mr. Kiks, that's what she gets for letting him play.



Our first burglar visited us that same night.



Luckily for us, a very nice policewoman saved the day, and I could go back to my very important game of pinball while Adam slept peacefully.



That's my boy! I'd jump around and celebrate, but I have a genetic condition that makes me unable to show any emotion. I got it from Mother, and while it took us a while to understand why she never cheered for us on our birthdays, we eventually got it.



Adam also learnt how to talk, and I was really proud of my son. He's such a smart little kid.



Before I knew it, it was time to meet my second child! But while the social worker walked to the door, something worth mentioning happened:



Adam learnt how to walk! We made it, he has all his toddler skills. Now, it's time to start with the next one!



This is Benjamin Valentine, my second son. And that's nanny pee in the background. You'd think a woman who's supposed to take care of children would be able to control her bladder, right? Well, you'd be wrong.



Adam grew up well, and is now a happy kid. He's still wearing his emo bangs, because every time The Ruler of All That is Evil changes his hairstyle, Mr. Kiks changes it back. They're one weird couple, sometimes I wonder if they even like each other.

"Yeah, not really, actually."

Leave me alone, weird voice!



And Ben is now a toddler! This is really not as hard as I thought it would be, the only difficult thing is waiting till I'm an elder to marry Melissa, my college sweetheart. But I'm loving fatherhood so far!



I lost my job today, but I had to fake happiness so Adam wouldn't worry. I'll try to find a job in the Law Enforcement track now. I only have to make sure they don't find out about that strange voice in my head...
